Name/Nicknames: Hestia Terpsikore Jones * Hes, Hessy, Jones and sometimes Jonesy
Age: 17
Year: Seventh
House: Gryffindor
Blood: halfblood
Physical Description:
Hestia is overall a classic beauty. She has long black hair that goes down to her midback in loose curls. It's usually down, or kept in place with a braid when she doesn't want her hair getting in her face. In summer her hair tends to look brownish because it bleaches easily with the sun.
Her eyes are what first draw attention in her face. They are dark green in colour, and with a very childish air to them, mostly because of how wide they are. It is said that eyes are a mirror to the soul, and there is no exception with Hestia. She can hardly hide anything with such expressive eyes, even if she can pull the exact face her eyes often betray her. Hestia's eyes are framed by thick lashes and very thin and defined eyebrows.
She has a very delicate face, with a small jaw, high cheekbones, a small upturned nose with some freckles and full lips. Her smile is the second thing that draws the most attention in her face, as its really wide and impish.
She has a very petite bone structure and isn't taller that 5 ft 3 inches. She is also very thin and looks very delicate and child like. This has even led to people mistaking her for a 5th Year sometimes. Her skin used to have a tanish tint to it when she lived in Greece, but the second she stepped in England it decolored to it's pale state. In summer, however, it returns to it's tanish colour.
She likes to wear comfortable yet trendy clothes, and usually settles with a pair of jeans and a boatneck sweater in winter; or a skirt with a top and large sunglasses in summer.
She moves usually with grace and confidence, which is the only thing that oposes to the overall childish air Hestia gives away.
Personality:
Hestia has quite the complex personality, and the word that suits her the most is ecclectic. She's a very familiar individual, and she considers her friends an extent of her family. She loves spending time with them and anyone who messes with them messes with Hestia as well. She is confident im herself and can sometimes border arrogance, especially if she feels attacked.
She is a specialist when it comes to seeing the bright side of things and is very optimist, and chanalizes this to cheer up her friends when needed. This optimist attitude ends when someone crosses her the wrong way, and she gives away to a more feisty attitude that has often gotten her into trouble. She can't stand those who believe in blood superiority, and makes sure her opinion is heard, not really caring if she's in her Common Room with her friends or in a hallway full of Slytherins. She is somewhat of a revolutionary and is always on the lookout for anything she considers unfair, and is not afraid to speak out to a figure of authority over it. This attitude has led her even to arguments with some teachers over things she thinks are wrong
She loves physical activity, Quidditch among them and is always up for a match. In sports Hes is very competitive, and she often sets herself goals and doesn't stop until achieving them, at almost any cost. She highly dislikes routine and always manages to think of something to break it, like a nightly trip to the kitchen, a walk in the Grounds or even the Forest. She is not a fan of schoolwork either and she usually procrastinates them, somehow managing decent grades along the way.
History
Parents:
Apollo Jones * Works at a Magical Creature Conservation Center
Astrid (Aliki) Jones * Healer at St Mungo's
Sibling (s): Ullyses Jones * Treasure Hunter for Gringotts
Overall History:
Hestia was the youngest child born to Apollo and Astrid Jones. Apollo was temporarily living in greece to study the habits of the native creatures there when he met Astrid Aliki and they fell in love. They got married short after and decided to settle in Greece, where their two children were born. Ulysses was the first born, and two years later Hestia came into picture. This wide eyed baby was ecstatic with all the ruckus around the house, and as she got older she stopped watchin and took an active part in it. She loved to play with the creatures Apollo brought home almost on a daily basis, and had more real adventures children her age have had, as Apollo often took Ulysses and Hestia to his work at the Conservation Center. Mr. Jones`s workmates quickly warmed up to adventrous Ulysses and lively Hestia and they got to do all kind of entertaining things, like riding a Hippogriff (with a grownup, of course), swimming with Hippocampus, running after Diricawls and things of the sort. She even took home a small affectionate Niffler once, and chaos ensued. The small animal practically trashed the Living Room and Apollo had to chase over an hour before he finally caught it.
When she wasn´t at the Conservation Center, Hestia was usually out in the beach playing with her brother. She attended school for a while with muggle boys, but this didn´t last long, even though her parents had sat down to explain little Hess that most things she considered normal were forbidden to muggles and she was supossed to never talk about them. At first it worked perfectly, and Hess made a lot of friends in school. But one day she innocently brought her Puffskein pet to class for Show and Tell and hell broke loose. Her parents had to obliviate the entire class and Hestia was taken from school to be tutored until she was old enough to attend a Magical School. It fascinated to be able to focus the sporadics bursts of magic to do something, and she often would sneak and take one of her parents wands and say random words to see if anything happened. That's how she once turned all of Apollo's shoes bright purple, and even got one of her eyebrows blown out once. That didn't discouraged her though, and even shortly before departing to Hogwarts she still toyed around with wands. In contrast to this new world that had opened before her, Hestia still kept in touch with some of her school friends and they went together to local festivals and such.
When she turned nine her brother got her Hogwarts letter and left for England, and for Hess it meant losing a game partner. She got really lonely with her brother gone, and things got worse when her dad got a new job in Great Britain, because that meant losing the few friends she had. They moved to Bryher, a small Island in Cornwall where the Jones´s settled in a fairly big house. The difference between Greece and Britain depressed little Hestia, who wasn’t used to the colder weather and that year she spent it between colds and flues. By the time she turned ten she had grown more accustomed to the weather, and it wasn't long until she was out roaming around beaches and woods, and even the new Conservation Center Apollo was in charge of. She adamantly disliked winters so she practically spen most of the winter in the house, where she spent her time with her mother. Astrid was a Healer, but since they had moved out, she wasn’t working and was waiting for Hestia to start school to start working again. Astrid loved music, and she passed that to little Hestia, and that year she taught her to play piano.
When she turned eleven, an owl flew through the window delivering Hestia her Hogwarts letter. She was thrilled to attend the same school as her brother, and was delighted with her first trip to Diagon Alley. So many different people in such a crowded and cheery place fascinated her, as she had always lived in quiet places. Finally the moment to start school came, and Hess was so excited about it she hardly slept the night before. She was in awe at the beauty of the Castle and the grounds and loved Hogwarts from the first time she laid eyes on it. At the Sorting ceremony Hess was very anxious, and when the Sorting Hat placed her in Gryffindor, it thrilled her, because she'd be in the same House than her older brother. And although it was of great help to have a familiar face to show her the ropes around Hogwarts, it wasn't long until Hestia had made some friends in her Year
Likes: boys (duh!), hanging out with her friends, parties, dancing, Quidditch, sleeping in, procrastinating schoolwork, playing the piano, revolutions.
Dislikes cold days, schoolwork, blood elitists, moths, routine, injustice
Strengths: she is fairly good in Charms and in Care of Magical Creatures, and is good at flying. She also works better under stress, and is very creative, fearless, adventurous and isn't afraid to confornt an authority.
Weaknesses: she's really bold and often goes too far to prove a point, she has a soft spot for animals (almost every kind). She gets a hard time concentrating in something she's not interested in.
Patronus: fox
Boggart: a Quintaped
Anything extra?
Wand: 11 inches, Hippocamus scale, olive wood
Pet: a birman cat called Ra
If there was one word to describe your character, what would it be? ecclectic

Arianna tossed in her bed, trying to block out the scratching noise that had woken her up a few minutes ago. The scratching was annoyingly close and was getting nearer, until she felt a weight in her pillow, and her hair being slightly pulled. Ari moved towards the edge of the bed, but to no avail. Her hair was still being pulled softly and the weight on her pillow only moved closer. Ari groaned and pulled the bed covers over her head, and the weight on her pillow sneaked under the covers and Ari fur against her back.
"Alright, alright I give up" she mpureed, pulling the covers and turning around to face a grey furry kitty with wide green eyes that were staring intently at her. Arianna scratched the Cotton´s head, enjoying the softness of his fur. She glanced at a muggle clock in her nightstand and read 6 a.m. Ari tried to get back to sleep with Cotton curled at her side but it was useless. By now some bloody bird had decided it was time to start singing and thus Ari was deprived from sleep.
She mumbled annoyed and sat up. Cotton stared up at her with curiosity and curled up by her side. She slipped her feet in a pair of furry black slippers and headed to the bathroom, trying to be as quiet as possible. She had thought to tak a shower, but decided against it. After all it´d be too noisy and she didn´t want to get banned from the dorm for being noisy. She looked at her reflection in the mirror and a light groan escaped her lips. Ari picked up a brush to fix the tangle that Cotton had left in her hair. After a few minutes she was done with her hair and brushed her teeth vigorously. Finally she washed her face with water, to shake the sleepiness off.
Arianna returned to the dorm and pulled a set of clothes of her trunk and went back to the bathroom to get changed. After a few minutes she came out with a pair of faded jeans, a black tank top and a crossed dark cyan cardigan over it, still wearing her slippers. She walked over to her bed and after shooing Cotton off of it, made it. Now that she was done she figured she might as well go down to the Common room to hang out for a while before breakfast, and after that maybe practicing Quidditch or catching up on her homework, subconsciously knowing she´d pick up the secon choice.
"You´re coming with me, mr. I don´t want you waking up more people in here" She said in a low voice to Cotton and picking him up. With the kitty craddled in her arms, Arianna exited her dorm and walked down the stairs to the Common Room. She was surprised to find someone up so early and by the mop of auburn hair she could make it was Lei sitting by the fire. She knew that Lei was always up early but Ari still was surprised to find her awake at this hour.
"Morning, cuz." Ari greeted her cousin as she walked over to her."So are we Weasleys early birds or what?" she commented Lei with a smirk. She placed Cotton on the ground to let him wander wherever he felt like, and Ari took a seat in a comfy looking chair in front of Lei and by the fire as well
