Canon or Original?: Canon
Name/Nicknames: Gideon Prewett is his real names. Nicknames he'll let slide are Gid and Prew. His family has some other names, but anyone he caught using those would have a monkey's tail in two seconds flat.
Age: Seventeen
Year: Seventh
House: Gryffindor
Blood: Pureblood
Description
Hair: Gideon has hair somewhere in a shade between red and brown, but a little more on the brown side. He lets it grow out a bit during the summer, but his mum insists he keep it looking clean otherwise he has to get it chopped off.
Eyes: His eyes are another shade of brown similar to his hair, maybe a bit darker in color.
Height: Like most of the men in his family, he comes in at a somewhat short 5'8".
Overall Description:
Gideon looks like the athletic Gryffindor that he is, minus his rather short stature and pale-ish skin- the result of his nationality, not from a lack of sun exposure. He has the build of a runner which he makes sure to keep in check, even during the year at Hogwarts, with the hope of one day becoming one of the best auror's the ministry has ever seen.
But beyond that, he just has a way he carries himself that sets him apart from the crowd, even if he can't be automatically seen in one. There is a confidence behind every move he makes and a driving sense to his actions that makes him curiously interesting to watch. This alone makes him look more physically appealing than he actually is in reality.
As far as clothing goes, Gideon wears what he find to be comfortable. Jeans and some sort of loose shirt with a jacket in the winter suit him perfectly fine as he hasn't ever been one to keep up with what muggles call the 'fashion trends'.
However, he never dresses in anything sloppy for he knows his mother would have his head if she heard about it from anyone, as she takes great pride in the appearance of her children.
Personality:
Gideon is competitive when it comes to most anything where competition can be placed. This can be a good thing when, for instance, he needs to keep his grades up and a bad thing when he's just not very good at something. He has a dogged determination to achieve his goals- such as becoming an auror- and will work harder than most if what he's doing helps him on the way. The competitiveness may also be partly due to the fact that he is a twin and although he is best friends with his sibling, he doesn't enjoy being compared to him.
However, outside of school and other competitive outlets, Gideon has a very laid-back character and tends to make people feel comfortable around him. He jokes around with his friends and enjoys having a good time just relaxing- probably to unwind from how worked up he gets during the day. He also has a vitality about him that seems to always be exploding energy.
There are certain instances that he loose his normally carefree attitude for, and those are when it comes to talk of 'Death Eaters' and the like or anything having to do with 'separatism' and the 'better blood'. For as much as he comes off as sort of a jock simply by his looks, he keeps himself very well informed on current events and certainly is opinionated about them. He also cannot tolerate someone being picked on simply because of what they are and stops it when he can. Anything of that sort changes his mood instantly, and he can be quite the fighter when called upon to do so.
History
Parents: Thomas and Winnifred Prewett
Sibling (s): Molly Weasley (older sister by roughly seven years and now married) and Fabian Prewett, his twin.
Overall History:
Gideon was technically the second child born to Thomas and Winnifred Prewett, although he is always clumped together with Fabian when they talk about such things, as rarely as that occurs.
Some of his earliest memories were terrorizing his older sister Molly (who at the time was thirteen and home for the summer) in a way only a younger brother could, especially with the help given to him from his twin whom he always had a very surreal bond with. They grew up finishing each other sentences, confusing their poor nanny, and in general causing problems that no poor mother should have to deal with.
However, as he grew up he began to realize something was different with their family. Terms like 'pure blood' and 'traitor' were coming up more often and his father started separating himself from many of his previous familial and social ties. This suited Gideon just fine as he never much got along with them and their hoity-toity, noses-in-the-air routine anyway.
Then, just like his sister was, he was accepted to Hogwarts. It was there he first really learned what it was an auror did and since then he hasn't been able to shut up about it. It even annoys Fabian sometimes, he prattles on so much. In his second year, he then decided that that was for sure what he wanted to do, and has been working to wards his goal ever since.
Likes/Dislikes
Wand: 12" Yew with Unicorn Heartstring
Pet: A barn owl named Twit (which is very fitting, although a tad bit unkind).
extra stuff
Likes: Challenging himself, hanging out with friends, learning new spells, DADA, Quidditch and all other sports he's learned, coming up with new pranks with Fabian, and getting letters from molly who's gone off and gotten herself married now.
Dislikes: Snobbery, people who think they're above others, his extended family, people who go prance about saying they're 'pure bloods' and how good that makes them, the dark arts, and being made fun of.
Strengths: He is particularly adept at defensive spells and anything else he has learned in Defense, as it is his favorite subject. Although he also has a rare gift for charms and good be potentially great if he tried a little harder in that aspect. He's also a pretty good flyer, if he does say so himself.
Weaknesses: He's a little too 'do good, no matter what the cost' and it tends to get him in trouble. He's also willing to speak his mind and doesn't always know when to shut his mouth and that often gets him into fights. He also absolutely loves Bertie Botts Beans for some strange reason...
Patronus: A falcon, of all things. His brother had mocked him about that for days...
Boggart: He only remembers it once and it was pretty grim, lots of dead bodies and the like.
Roleplaying Sample:
"Prew, it is already nine thirty and I swear if you don't get up in the next five seconds, you'll regret it."
Although Gideon knew he should have been listening and he probably would regret it if he didn't, it was hard to ignore the siren's call of his warm blankets and pillow when the weather outside was so bleak and cold. Honestly, it was even winter holiday, what did someone have to do around there to catch a little extra sleep?
"I can't hear you." Was all he could muster up as a reply from his half-asleep state, although seeing as his current position was face down in a pillow, it came out a lot more like 'caneroo'.
Then there was silence. Blissful, pure, sweet silence.
Or at least it would have been, had it been anyone other than Fabian. Gideon knew better than to expect his twin to leave him alone that easily. No, he was up to something, that was for sure.
One minute passed, then two, then...
SNAP, POP, BANG!
It took all the balance Gideon had in him to keep from flying off the bed and landing in a heap on the floor and instead becoming the blanket knot he now was as he watched annoyed as little sparks of harmless red and gold light fall to the floor.
"What the bloody hell do you think you're doing?" Gideon hissed, trying to get himself out of the mess of sheets so he could get his hands around his brother's smirking gob in the doorway, "You know Molly's been feeling ill lately, mum said to-"
"GIDEON, FABIAN, I SWEAR IF I COME UP THERE AND SEE EITHER OF YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS...!"
The twins exchanged quick, horrified glances and Gideon finally untangled himself and threw on a t-shirt from off the floor. Fabian was ready with their jackets and without hesitation they climbed out the window, down the tree, and onto the snowy white ground.
Gideon glanced back up at the window as they hurried away. Mum would forgive them of course, she always did, it would just take most of the day. Until then, they would hide out.
