Canon or Original?: Cannon
Name/Nicknames: Fabian Prewett: Ian, Prew (which gets a bit confusing with his twin...) and if you're family than Bean works, although it isn't his favorite or anything. The one nickname he cannot stand is 'Fabio'.
Age: Seventeen
Year: Seventh
House: Preferred house of Ravenclaw. : )
Blood: Full Blood
Physical Description:
Hair: A sort of red-ish brown and although it is a little bit darker than his twins, there isn't really enough of a difference to distinguish between the two.
Eyes: A deep hazel that is much the same color as his hair, although he's been told they almost look amber when he's outdoors.
Height: 5'8 1/2". He's checked. Twice in the past week, actually, much to the dismay of Gideon.
etc...: Fabian is much like Gideon in that he has the same sort of confidence surrounding him, although his is a bit more restrained than his twin's. He, too, keeps himself fit through flying practice with Gideon over the summer, however he is not what anyone would call 'muscly' or 'sculpted'.
For clothing, Fabian only really dresses casually during the summer holiday and on weekends at Hogwarts. During the rest of his free time he prefers to keep himself looking tidy and pulled together, usually with colored shirts and the like. He also keeps his haircut a bit shorter than Gideon does because he likes being able to keep it somewhat sane looking.
Personality: Fabian has always been the more laid-back of the twins. He takes his schooling very seriously, but it is purely for his own benefit and not that of trying to prove anything. Ever since he was born he's had an eager mind to absorb anything unexplained that he encounters even if it isn't truly possible. While Gideon would go off traipsing through the woods near their home simly for sport, Fabian would pay attention to the trail markers, the way the moss grew, and to the little details of the forest that most people would simply walk by.
And when he becomes fascinated with something, it has a tendancy to consume him- in a way- until he either solves the mystery or runs out of explanations. Although this makes him a diligant worker, it also causes him to become somewhat anti-social if he is particularly interested. When he isn't, however, he can be just as easy-going as his twin and enjoys spending his free time with friends or a good book outdoors.
This does not mean that he doesn't have his own bit of courage that seems to run in the family. When he becomes angry over something, he will rise to violence when it is necessary and has the same need to protect those who cannot protect themselves that his brother has. He sees it as his duty to do for others what they cannot accomplish themselves.
Overall History
History : Fabian was the first child born to Thomas and Winnifred Prewett technically, and thus he is the older brother by right, a position of 'power' he occasionally liked to lord over Gideon when he is being particularly obnoxious.
From birth he was always close to Gideon, in fact the two were rarely apart from one another. Of course he was close to Molly as well, but there is some sort of bond that only twins can share, especially twin boys left to their own devices with a nanny during the day. Unruly behavior and practical joking were the laws by which the two lived by growing up, always there to share in the fun and then the inevitable punishment afterwards- at least until they were smart enough not to get caught.
Fabian remembers that starting near when he was the age of nine his family was on poor standings with the rest of their relatives and began to watch them much more closely than he had before. He never doubted his parents, for he knew they were good people and they had always been fair and open-minded to the world at large, especially as it concerned muggles. He was certain this was why, only a few years later, his family drifted apart from their relatives and some then family friends.
Then he was accepted to Hogwarts the same year Gideon was. It came as sort of a shock to their parents that they ended up in different houses, but it certainly wasn't a surprise to the twins nor did it weaken their bond any.
Parents: Thomas and Winnifred Prewett
Sibling (s): Molly Weasley (Previously Molly Prewett) and Gideon Prewett, his twin.
Likes: Learning about as much as he can possibly cram in his brain, planningpranks projects with Gideon, spending time outdoors, and going out with Eisenheim to the lake. He has also learned what muggles like to think of as 'magic tricks' only to a little bit more sophisticated degree. They're all for show, of course, but he finds them entretaining to preform.
Dislikes: Cruelty of any kind (he can't tolerate it), all of that 'pure blood' and not buisness, when he has to keep Gideon from getting in trouble, and anyone making fun or sport of his family.
Strengths: Fabian has a wide knowledge of many things, although he is especially strong in tracking and his knowledge o potions, which he has always been interested in. He's good on a broom too, it sort of runs in the family.
Weaknesses: His brother can convince him to do just about anything if he tries, even if it is a little on the stupid side. He also has a weakness for exploring the unknown, even if it puts him in the line of danger to learn something new.
Patronus: The Holsteiner Horse
Boggart: Water. He had an incident when he was younger and hasn't been in any boyd of water larger than a bathtub since.
Anything extra?: Not currently. His wand is an 11" Holly wood with a heartstring from the same unicorn that gave one to Gideon. And he also has a pet owl by the name of Eisenheim that was a gift from his father.
If there was one word to describe your character, what would it be?: Knowledgeable
Roleplaying Sample:
"This is...well...horrible." Fabian said, finishing the last few words on the second page of the hand-written essay.
"Yes, and do you know why it's horrible, Fabian?" Gideon asked, although Fabian could tell by his tone that it was a rhetorical question and Gideon went on, "Could it be because I speant half the night cleaning up after your little 'experiment' gone wrong down in the Entrance Hall?"
Fabian flinched slightly. It was true, of course. After having read up on a new spell that was supposed to make things grow to twice their size he had immediately attempted the experiment on an apple in the Entrance Hall. Unforuntatly, he must have been a little too enthusiastic in his wand waving or a little too forceful in saying the spell because the apple most definetly had not stopped growing at twice it's normal size. In fact, if the apple hadn't burst when it was about the size of a basketball, Fabian wasn't quite sure just how large it would have gotten.
Thankfully, Gideon had been present and aware that Fabian had a certain appointment to make with a certain Ravenclaw girl in about half an hour and had covered for him when the inevitable punishment had come. He certainly owed Gideon for that one.
"Alright, we can fix this. Don't worry." Fabian said, tapping the papper with his wand all over and watching various words replace themselves on the page with something else, "Now it's a bit better, or at least it sounds convincing. Should get you buy just fine."
Gideon surveyed the paper and then glanced at Fabian, "You still owe me, you know."
And Fabian knew he did and that, knowing Gideon, he'd be repaying it sooner rather than later.
